4 Vintage Italian Cherub Face Masks
We are pleased to offer today a lovely set of 4 Vintage Italian Face Masks.
Made in Italy using hand rolled clay and painted by hand.
Known to bring good fortune to the owners home plus they contain benevolent powers.
We always thought they represented seasons. example:  grapes for the wine harvest.
The colors are bright, no chips, scratches or cracks. In superb condition.
One has a small spot on edge that was never glazed *see pic. NOT a chip. Very hard to spot.
They were personally acquired over 30 yrs ago thru Neiman Marcus. They hung in my kitchen for years.
We really do not know a lot about them. There is a makers mark in pottery on back of each.
We are not well versed in art
pottery but the
terms
Cottura, Faience, Majolica, Mid Century have all been used when describing them. They feel heavy in the hand.
They hang beautifully and would make a perfect addition to your home.
Would be
happy to arrange for local pickup if necessary for no charge.
Each mask is different but all approximately 6.5" x 6.5"
