Antique Italian Terracotta Garden Pot Hand Painted Textured Ribbon Wheel Pottery

Here is a very old and lovely handmade terracotta pot made in Italy circa 1910-1940. this wonderful pot is very heavy and has snaked applied ribbons on the outer pot that is incredibly tactile when being held in your hands. has a great feel. this is an original wheel pottery piece and you can see the wheel marks on the inside muted white glazed walls. the outside is hand painted and decorated. there are 16 raised snaked ribbons on the outside each with hand painted flowers in the center of each ribbon and green leaves and vines extending from both sides of the flowers. the color of the flowers are alternating yellow/orange and blue, every other ribbon. hand painted dark blue scrolls are in the seams of the ribbons. the top and bottom rim edges are a light brown with the same light brown outlining the raised ribbons. there are heavy thick applied brown beads at the top shoulder as well with blue decoration above.
This old terracotta garden pot stands 4 1/2" tall and 4" across top opening. the bottom base is 3" across with unglazed rim riser. signed "ITALY". the pot weighs a very respectable 1lb 12 oz. there are no chips or cracks to pot. the inside top rim is uneven and has 2 tiny old worn flea bite flakes. there are 3 inside top rim wall impressions from where a 3 sided or pronged tool was used to place in kiln. these marks thin the upper rim wall out in these areas and are under the glaze. the bottom base rim is dark and has normal age related wear. the inside has 2 spots of dried rust like color and some residual old dirt stains. please view all pics and read full item condition.
