Beautiful pair of very hard ceramic plates, they seem almost in majolica, with a heavy yellow matt glaze very smooth to the touch reminiscent of the glaze of Guido Andlovitz's vases. Produced by SCR Laveno, the Revelli Ceramic Company (Società Ceramiche Revelli) of Severino Revelli, founded in Laveno in 1886. Dated around 1950, entirely hand-painted and signed by L. Merlo. They are two extraordinary dishes, the two still lifes look like two oil paintings on ceramics, truly fabulous and extremely detailed. Also beautiful are the two concentric black circles that outline the edge of the plates, perfect in execution. Even the quality of the ceramic mixture indicates that these are two high quality plates, extremely hard, compact and heavy, with a simply perfect opaque yellow glaze, without the slightest burr or imperfection, they seem sanded by hand to obtain a very high finish level.
